Work & Life Update During Quarantine • April Edition

All signs of Spring are slowly emerging, but Spring has never felt more different.

I hope you’re all are staying healthy & safe during these unprecedented times. My team and I are working from home and doing our part to help stop the spread by abiding to the stay at home state mandate until business returns back to normal. Fortunately, we were able to successfully close the majority of our deals already in escrow before the COVID-19 pandemic started in Michigan.

Title companies and inspectors are considered essential services, so closings are still taking place in various ways, such as Drive-Thru Closings, where you stay in your car or in a private closing room while maintaining social distancing rules. As expected, there have been a few hiccups with buyer furloughs (meaning the buyer cannot close on the house now), changes in lending…we’re taking it day by day, and over communicating to everyone as we virtually navigate through to the finish line.

Right now, I’m looking at this situation as if we are pressing the ‘Pause Button’. Our first quarter was our strongest ever, and I fully anticipate picking RIGHT back up where we left off once this is over. I have no doubt that we’ll experience a lot of pent-up demand with a number of people (maybe YOU) who have been quarantined in their home and realized they no longer want to be in it any longer! It will also be interesting to see how the market fluctuates with unemployment numbers where they are at. With 18 years of experience in real estate, I’ve never witnessed a housing market like this. Things are changing by the day!

This month on the blog, I even included all my tips on how to beat the quarantine blues from how I deal with anxiety during COVID-19; to online workouts run by badass babes; to a list of restaurants and retailers still open during this time; and I share about my new obsession with house plants! I even introduce you to another inspiring boss babe and owner of my very favorite workout, Kelly Ritchie from The LBS Method!

In other positive news, last month I was featured in SEEN Magazine. They asked me 20 questions and I think you all will enjoy the quick read :) In funnier news, my new house is coming along…slower than ever now. As we’ve experienced a number of furniture delays due to COVID-19.

I really hope this month’s content spreads some happiness to you and your family—and be sure to let me know which tips were most helpful by emailing me or DMing me on Instagram. XOXO - Erica
