Alex Drew & No One

How STUNNING is this table!? It was featured in Architectural Digest and created custom by ALEX DREW & NO ONE — a Brooklyn-born/ Detroit- based custom design studio that produces modern furniture and objects. The masterminds behind this team are Alex Rosenhaus and Drew Arrison [and no one else ;)], who met in Brooklyn, NY in 2010 where they immediately began collaborating on projects. Seeking more space (and a washer and dryer) they quit their distinguished jobs in NYC and relocated to Detroit in 2013 to start their own company.

With design and craftsmanship at the forefront, their work focuses on combining unique materials, sophisticated design details, and elegant lines. They harmoniously incorporate these elements into furniture that is clean and modern. In addition to their current product line, AD&NO also offers design services and custom furniture projects based on their design aesthetics. They also fabricate custom commissioned pieces for architects and interior designers.

Follow them on Instagram and don’t miss their incredible mirrors, coffee tables….the list goes on… they are incredibly talented.

Floyd Detroit

Floyd began in Detroit in 2013 out of a reaction to disposable furniture. They design sustainable products that are thoughtful, high quality, & built to last. Floyd products are in the homes of over 30,000 customers, and today they’re one of the fastest growing furniture brands in the country. Their mission is to design products of lasting quality for how people live today and they believe that furniture should be made for the home, not the landfill, with materials that last.

Donut Shop

Yep, you read that right. This Detroit furniture maker is called Donut Shop. Founded in 2017 by friends Ian Klipa and Jacob Saphier, they work on a variety of projects including furniture, lighting, and spaces. Ian and Jake come from a sculptural background and are largely self taught when it comes to machining and fabrication. This duality leads to unconventional approaches in their work.

Donut Shop designs and produces the majority of its work in house. In addition to their own production capabilities, Donut Shop relies on the area’s wealth of industrial heritage to realize their designs utilizing both local services and suppliers.

Fillmore Building & Design

Detroit-based Fillmore Building & Design company specializes in carpentry and design, and is also a licensed and insured residential builder. I just hired them to do a custom TV console for my home and know many other happy clients of theirs. They can make everything from furniture, to stairways, wall details, patios…the list goes on!
