Is it just me, or has the fast-paced, “back to normal version” of life felt like a whirlwind these past few weeks?! If you’re feeling similiarly then know you’re not alone. In fact, nearly 50% of people are anxious about getting back to normal, pre-pandemic life.

After spending over a year avoiding face-to-face social interactions, the pandemic has spiked social anxiety for many Americans. Some people are going out as much as they can and then others have found a new appreciation for staying home on the couch! Whether you’re living life like ‘normal’ or not…there’s still very much a sense of unertainty.

For me personally, I realize that I used to take social gatherings for granted, so now when it comes to managing work and social commitments - PLANNING AHEAD makes me feel more at ease. I like to put things on an actual calendar or on my phone these days…and I find myself doing less spontaneous meet-ups and more planned outings. So, if you wanna meet up…send me a google or outlook invite ;)

My work keeps me very social, so I always try to keep my days planned out and as structured as possible. I love quiet mornings to pound out e-mails and scroll through MLS listings, and then I use my afternoons and evenings for client meetings and social gatherings.

There’s no single solution that will work for everyone, but I think it’s important to acknowledge that we’re all in a very transitional phase of life. It can feel exhausting at times! Especially because we aren’t used to this fast-paced way of living life…And that’s ok. Sometimes simply being aware that you aren’t alone in how you’re feeling is half the battle.

So with that my friends, I hope you plan something fun this weekend! And don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, but also just know that it’s totally OK if you’re learning to embrace the quiet couch moments at home too…we’re all figuring this back to the real world thing together.

See you soon-XO, Erica
